Jeffrey Jacob Abrams, commonly known as J.J. Abrams, born June 27, 1966 in New York City, New York is an American film and television producer, screenwriter, director, actor, and composer who is directing, writing, and producing Super 8. He is the founder of Bad Robot Productions, and is an Emmy and Golden Globe award winner, who created or co-created the television series "Felicity," "Alias," "Lost," and "Fringe," - directed the films "Mission: Impossible III" and "Star Trek"(2009) and produced the film Cloverfield.
